Staines Council meets at Staines Masonic Hall on 3rd Saturday in March & June & the 4th Saturday in September.
Staines Council was part of the rapid expansion of the Order of Royal and Select Masters in the late eighties and early nineties. In Middlesex this was led by the Divisional Grand Master for Middlesex & Surrey, R.Illustrious Companion Alfred Mark which saw new Councils opened at Twickenham, Harrow and Southgate in addition to those already well established at Twickenham and Uxbridge.
Staines Council was consecrated in December 1991 by the Most Illustrious Grand Master, M.Ill Companion Thomas Were Howard, with Alfred Mark Installing the first Master, Tony Sheppardson, later to become District Recorder and Deputy District Grand Master.
David Sparks, the second Master, was the first District Grand Master of Middlesex when the District was founded in 1994. Alastair Mason, Master in 1999, succeeded David Sparks as District Grand Master in 2006 and Chris Lewis, Master in 2000, succeeded Alastair Mason as District Grand Master in 2013.
Glyn Hughes also a Past Master of Staines was appointed Deputy District Grand Master in 2006 and held the office for eight years.
Staines is now approaching its 25th anniversary and its continuing success has exceeded the most optimistic hopes of its Founders, Staines Council is now the largest Council in Middlesex.
